Our primary goal is to support you in gaining employment and successfully maintain your job.

 

What we offer you

Personalised service:

  • regular appointments with your Employment Consultant
  • help to identify your needs and goals
  • as much or as little support as you require.

Pre-employment training programs:

  • careers guidance
  • “Get to work” training sessions
  • Occupational Health and Safety training.

Personalised job readiness:

  • résumé development
  • seeking appropriate job vacancies
  • marketing YOU to employers
  • training in interview techniques
  • attending interviews with you, if support is required.

Employment support:

  • initial “on the job support” to help you build confidence and overcome barriers to work
  • assistance with workplace issues.

Access to services:

  • assistance with exploring further training
  • referrals to other services and community based programs.

The Bridge Employment can provide you with support on and off the job to help you achieve your goal of working independently. 

 

How to get started

Ask to see your Centrelink Senior Customer Service Advisor or contact your local Employment Office and speak to our friendly staff about an appointment.

Eligibility

To use our services, you must:

  • have a disability, illness or injury
  • be of working age
  • be assessed as capable of working in open employment
  • be endorsed by Centrelink as requiring specialist assistance to build your capacity for work and/or on-going support in employment
  • not registered with another Disability Employment Service
  • not employed, unless your job is in jeopardy.

Supported employment

Some people with disability are looking for work in a friendly, professional supported environment.

The Bridge Works is a business of The Bridge Inc. providing supportive employment opportunities similar to employment and business environments in the open industry.

Through individual training and ongoing support, the skills of people with a disability are matched with the requirements of the jobs available.
