Recent job seeker success stories

Congratulations to Giuseppe and Jocelyne, who have recently engaged with The Bridge Employment and have achieved much success in gaining and maintaining employment in Melbourne's south-east.

Giuseppe’s story

Giuseppe joined The Employment at our Springvale office in January 2012. He had not worked since 2005 due to a back injury. His program at Springvale included computer training, interview skills and relative job search skills.

Giuseppe also accessed The Bridge Employment’s Allied Health Specialist Service to gain knowledge on pain management empowering him to return to work more effectively. In March 2013, Employment referred Giuseppe to BAWM Work Education.

With his learnings at BAWM and through support from the Employment staff in Springvale, Giuseppe successfully completed work experience at Bunning’s Keysborough in July 2013, and as a result of his hard work, commenced paid employment with Bunnings in November 2013.

The Bridge Employment continues to provide ongoing support to both Giuseppe and Bunnings when required. Giuseppe is doing really well and thoroughly enjoys his work at Bunnings.

Jocelyne’s story

Jocelyne registered with the Cranbourne office of The Bridge Employment in May 2013. Unfortunately, as her husband passed away three years prior, and Jocelyne was no longer able to solely manage operations of her family business.

The team at The Bridge Employment in Cranbourne encouraged Jocelyn to enrol in Certificate 1 Work Preparation. Initially Jocelyne wasn’t sure, however she agreed to try the course to help improve her confidence. With support from her Cert 1 Work Prep Trainer, Jocelyn settled into the course well.

In early January, nearing the end of her training, Jocelyne gave The Bridge Employment some amazing news. With our encouragement and training, Jocelyn reregistered the family business in her name. She also brought in her children to help with business growth and operations.

Furthermore, Jocelyn has secured new contracts and is currently hiring contractors. Jocelyne and her family business are doing really well and the business is working toward a fulfilling future.
